Rensselaer now has true HD service available on dozens of your cable system channels. Receiving the new HD signals will require the use of a special Set-Top Digital Receiver that is available at the Rensselaer Computer Center at VCC. The cost of the Digital Receiver is $129, and includes all basic HD service fees through June 30, 2012.
The channels you will receive with the Digital Receiver include:

Once you purchase the Digital Receiver, you own it. You can re-authorize the Digital Receiver for service after the initial period to June 30, 2012 for an estimated $25 per year. The Digital Receiver only works on the Rensselaer Television Network. You can sell the equipment to another Rensselaer user, or move the equipment to any other Rensselaer cable system outlet at any time.
Enhancements Are Coming!
Soon you will be able to individually subscribe to other programming services using the Digital Receiver. Within the next months we will be offering a range of individual subscription services that you can get in addition to the bulk basic lineup provided as a convenience of occupancy - all in stunning HD! The subscription process will be tailored to the unique conditions best suited for the campus environment. Plans are to initiate a pre-paid type scratch-off card purchase to enable you to sign up for additional services as easily and inexpensively as possible. NO deposits, NO financial background check, NO registering your credit card, NO appointments, NO need to return equipment.
Future plans also include making these HD services available over a Cable-Card interface, and we will offer a TIVO receiver as well – all at low costs and no commitments required.
